Direct edition
The following terms apply only to the Direct edition. The Store edition follows the policy above, uses Apple purchases and sends no installation or usage statistics.
QuickLight Workspace processes most data on your Mac. This policy explains the information needed by online features and the choices available to you.
Local data and permissions
Layouts, settings, local backups, and file operations stay on your Mac. We do not upload your files, photos, or file contents to the developer's servers. Access to files and photos uses the system permissions you grant.
AI services
AI features send your instructions and necessary app or file names directly to the provider you choose, without passing through the developer's servers. API keys stay in your Mac's Keychain and are excluded from iCloud backups. Local Ollama requests stay on your Mac. Third-party providers process information under their own privacy policies.
iCloud backup
Only when you enable cloud backup are layouts, settings, and theme images saved to your iCloud. Backups exclude files, photos, AI keys, and device licenses. You can delete backups at any time. Apple provides and manages iCloud.
Membership, licensing, and purchases
Account details, email addresses, device authorization information, and purchase records support sign-in, activation, and order management. Apple handles App Store purchases; we do not receive your payment card details.
Updates and installation statistics
The Direct edition sends installation statistics by default, once on first launch. It does not report uninstallations, activity or feature usage.
Manage and delete
You can delete AI keys and cloud backups, sign out, or revoke file and photo permissions in macOS System Settings.
